Passion is irreplaceable.
It starts with your "why"—the driving force that propels your work ethic and compels you to overcome challenges, even when others doubt what’s possible.
For some, passion is about leading teams; for others, it's about constant self-improvement or pursuing financial freedom. There are those driven by the desire to help others believe in themselves.
This past week, I had the privilege of witnessing the powerful passion of a building principal and a music teacher as they worked together to prepare for a Veteran's Day event. Big thanks to all our Veterans!
The principal is deeply passionate about putting students first. Her tireless work ethic sees her in action during school hours, after the bell rings, and even on weekends. The Veteran's Day event was just the latest in a long series of impactful events she has orchestrated for the school. She excels at recognizing and empowering the talent around her, particularly one of her most gifted teachers.
That teacher, a music educator, is extraordinary in her own right. She, too, is driven by a passion for putting kids first. She brings enthusiasm and creativity to her role—dressing in festive costumes and even coordinating her makeup and hair for special events. One of her greatest gifts is the ability to inspire confidence in her students. I was lucky enough to "lose" a friendly competition with one of her student drummers at a recent talent show, and it was nothing short of spectacular.
Both of these women pour their hearts into their work, relentlessly climbing to the top of the mountain of their craft. While many admire the view from the summit, these educators endure the daily climb, and their passion fuels every step of the journey.
There truly is no substitute for passion. The students and staff at this school are fortunate to be led by such passionate educators.
Find your "why." Let it carry you through every step of your climb toward greatness, whatever the venue.
